As part of an outreach effort to area business people and community members, First Baptist Church in
Bowling Green is hosting a leadership seminar next Friday.
The telecast leadership seminar, broadcast live from Atlanta, Ga, will feature 10 different speakers with
backgrounds varying from an NFL player, a CNN correspondent, best-selling authors, to a Harvard
professor.
Among the speakers is Urban Meyer, former Bowling Green State University football coach and now head
coach at Ohio State University.
"It’s not a ministry-driven outreach," said Scot Bressler, a member of First Baptist who has
helped coordinate the seminar.
"It was just something different to get people acclimated to the church and something we considered
unique," he said.
First Baptist is one of hundreds of host sites for the telecast all around the world.
In addition to Meyer’s speech, others to speak include:
Tim Tebow, NFL quarterback and best-selling author; Patrick Lencioni, best-selling author and president
of The Table Group; Marcus Buckingham, strength strategist, best-selling author and researcher; John
Maxwell, leadership expert and best-selling author of "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership;"
Angela Ahrendts, chief executive officer of Burberry; Roland Fryer, professor of economics at Harvard
University and CEO of the Education Innovation Library.
Other speakers scheduled for the special event include Soledad O’Brien, anchor and special correspondent
for CNN; Andy Stanley, best-selling leadership author and communicator; and Sheena Iyengar, author of
"The Art of Choosing."
The telecast will be shown on the church’s project screen in its auditorium.
Cost for the seminar is $75 at the door, or $65 by Monday, and also includes seminar materials. A boxed
lunch from Call of the Canyon is also offered for an additional $8.
