JERRY CITY – Elmwood fifth and sixth-graders put on a science fair last week,
showcasing inventions, collections and scientist biographies.
The Elmwood Middle School Science Fair was held Feb. 23 in the Auditeria and
elementary gym .
Approximately 97 sixth-graders and 99 fifth-graders presented Rube Goldberg
contraptions, scientific method experiments, inventions, collections, models,
and scientist/inventor biographies.
The students took a nonrenewable resource and creates a way to make green energy.
There were also students displaying a crazy contraption involving a series of
complicated steps along with simple machines to achieve a simple task that would
normally only take one step.
Science teachers are Becky Peery, fifth, and Betsy McGory, sixth. The team teachers
also assisted, along with principal Dean Bell.
