Woman charged with assault
PERRYSBURG – A woman was arrested on charges including assaulting a police officer
after she broke into a room at a local hotel.
Perrysburg Police report that at 5:25 p.m. units were dispatched to 10667 Fremont
Pike, on the report of a female using a baseball bat to gain entry to a room.

Elisabeth Ann Carr, 45, Perrysburg, apparently resisted arrest at the scene and was
subsequently taken into custody. She was charged with assaulting a police
officer, burglary, and possession of criminal tools. Carr did not assault the
officer with the bat.
Motel deceased are identified
PERRYSBURG – The identities of two men found dead at the Econo Lodge in the city
Wednesday have been released.
Douglas M. Burk, 46, Temperance, Mich., was discovered dead in room 128 of the hotel
around 1:45 p.m. after management requested officers check his safety. Mark A.
Thompson, 57, Perrysburg, was subsequently found dead after officers checked
room 175.
The causes of death are under investigation by the Wood County Coroner. However it
was noted Wednesday that there was nothing to indicate foul play in the deaths.

Elmwood band preps for trip
The Elmwood High School Marching Band will perform at halftime of the
Elmwood-Woodmore varsity boys basketball game tonight.
The performance is in preparation for the band’s April 28 performance in the 2012
Virginia International Music / NATO Festival Parade in Norfolk, Va.
A sousaphone will be located in the Auditeria during the game to collect donations to
help sponsor band students for this trip.
All donations can be made to the Elmwood Music Boosters and will be split amongst
band members.
Free meal Mon. at Luckey Legion
LUCKEY – Sharing Hands is serving a free meal on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at American
Legion Post No. 240, 335 Park Dr. in Luckey.
Everyone is welcome.
