Bean Ride set for New Year’s
The Bowling Green Bicycle Society will again sponsor the Bean Ride on New Year’s Day.
The ride will start and finish at the Girl Scout Building in the City Park. Route and distance will be
determined by the weather and those who come out to ride at 11 a.m.
After the ride, there will be a potluck in the Girl Scout Building (please bring a dish to share). There
is no fee for the ride.

Home break-ins rise over holiday
LUCKEY – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is asking citizens to be vigilant after a string of vehicle
break-ins over the holiday weekend.
An alert message issued this morning states that “there were several vehicles broke in into the village
of Luckey” between Friday and Monday.
“Please make sure your vehicles are locked and valuables are taken out,” the message continues.
Residents are also advised to be on the lookout for “suspicious activity” during the nighttime hours.
Eastwood After-Prom dinner Fri.
PEMBERVILLE — Take the chill off winter at the Eastwood After-Prom chili cook-off fundraiser on Friday
from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Eagle’s Nest at the high school.
For $5, get chili, a dessert and a beverage.

Portage Trustees to meet Jan. 2
The Portage Township Trustees will hold their reorganizational meeting on Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m. followed by
their regular meeting. The Zoning Commission and Appeals Board will also meet to organize and select
officers for the year.
The meetings will be held at the township hall , Mermill and Huffman roads.

Weston Township’s year-end meeting will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Weston Township Administration
Building on Euler and Van Tassel roads.
