In addition to 15 months in prison, a Toledo man has been ordered to pay more than $83,200 in
restitution.
After pleading guilty, Joseph Rowe, 28, was sentenced by Wood County Common Pleas Court Judge Robert
Pollex to 15 months on a theft charge and 12 months for breaking and entering.
According to court documents, Rowe stole various items on or about April 1, and sold them for scrap.
The sentences were ordered to be served concurrent with each other as well as concurrent to a sentence
already being served by the defendant out of Lucas County. The restitution was ordered to be paid in the
amount of just over $20,400 to a Walbridge Road resident, and more than $62,800 to a second victim who
lives in Oregon.
Others were sentenced in regard to a string of incidents at area retailers, mostly involving the use of
counterfeit checks.
Steven Weaver, 36, of Toledo, was ordered by Pollex to four years in prison for his actions. He was found
guilty of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a first-degree felony. He was also ordered to pay
restitution jointly and severally with his co-defendants of more than $27,500, with more than $20,600 of
that total to Menard’s.
Weaver was among at least 13 individuals involved in 26 listed incidents in the indictment.
In a separate but related case, Weaver was ordered to serve 11 months each for two counts of forgery, and
60 days each for two counts of obstructing official business. All sentences were ordered to be served
concurrent to each other and concurrent to a sentence imposed in Lucas County.
Two of Weaver’s co-defendants, Carrie Darrington, 35, of Toledo, and Adrasha Nash, 28, listed in the
county jail, were also ordered to pay the same restitution figures for their conviction of receiving
stolen property.
Nash was ordered to spend four years in prison for engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Like
Weaver, her sentence was ordered to be concurrent with the remaining sentence she is presently serving.

Darrington was placed on four years of community control sanctions, with Pollex reserving 11 months in
prison should she violate those sanctions. Among the sanctions, the judge ordered 100 hours of community
service for her.
Additional co-defendants Donnell Johnson and Sabrina Pritchett are scheduled to enter pleas for their
roles in the incidents on Thursday.
Other recent prison sentences imposed include:
• Jermaine Hill, 32, of Northwood, two years for complicity to trafficking in cocaine, a third-degree
felony. He also was convicted of a misdemeanor offense of endangering children. His driver’s license was
suspended for a year, and $983 in cash was forfeited to the Perrysburg Township Police drug fund. He
also was ordered to pay a mandatory fine of $5,000. (Judge Alan Mayberry)
• Mark Barnett, 47, of Fostoria, 11 months for receiving stolen property, a motorhome. (Pollex)

• Marcos Pecina, 47, of Toledo, seven months for non-support of dependents. (Pollex)
• Timothy Brown, 52, of Detroit, six months for forgery from a 2006 case. He had pleaded guilty to the
charge in July 2007, but failed to appear in court for his sentencing. The original case involved a
fraudulent Michigan driver’s license which he forged.
Brown was arrested last month on a nationwide warrant issued at the time of his failure to appear. He was
on the lam for more than four years. (Pollex)
• A 29-year-old North Baltimore man, one year for domestic violence. (Mayberry)
In addition to those ordered to prison, Justin Case, 23, of Southgate, Mich., must pay $7,312 in
restitution following his conviction of receiving stolen property, in regard to a stolen vehicle from
Jackson, Ohio. (Pollex)
