To the Editor: Rowland praised for human relations experience

I am pleased to give Sandy Rowland my support in the upcoming race for Bowling Green City Council. I
would like to share with fellow residents, especially in the 4th Ward, my opinion on why she is the
best-qualified candidate to serve our city.
Sandy is a hands-on organizer ready to get involved where help is needed. She’s an effective communicator
who can pull people together. As a realtor, Sandy spends much time talking with homeowners and
prospective buyers, so she understands the needs and views of those who make up our local tax base. She
is concerned with the issues that make Bowling Green an attractive place to live. Taking an active role
in the Art Walk, Holly Days, and the Holiday Concert, she supports our historic downtown and wants to
keep it a viable business district.
To prepare for the role of councilmember, Sandy has attended meetings consistently over the past year and
understands how procedures work in our city. In prior years she also attended frequently to follow the
progress of such important issues as setting standards for rental properties and the increase in city
income tax. As a member of the Human Relations Commission, she went the extra mile to meet people
throughout our community and create the kind of welcoming atmosphere that speaks well of BG – a good
place to live, work, and do business.
I urge voters in the 4th Ward to join me in sending Rowland to city council.
