Girls Cross Coutry: Four county teams advance to regionals (10-23-11)

Perrysburg, Elmwood, Eastwood and Otsego each advanced from their respective girls district cross country
meets over the weekend.
Bowling Green’s Sasha Lanning, Madison Korak and Mallory Glenn, as well as Northwood’s Olivia Carbe and
Lakota’s Cariss Reese each advanced as individuals.
Following is a recap of the district meets involving Wood County schools.
DIVISION I
Perrysburg 2nd, BG advances three
At Oregon’s Pearson Park, Perrysburg finished second out of nine teams with 73 points in the District 1
race on Saturday.
Northview won the team title with 25 points, Maumee was third with 90, and Clay was fourth with 116.
Results for Perrysburg were: Taylor Monheim, third 18:59.7; Amanda Poll, 14th, 20:53.9; Cynthia Ocana,
15th, 20:54.1; Jessica Bohnenkamp, 19th, 21:16.9; and Jennifer Baum, 22nd, 21:30.8.
In the District 2 race, Bowling Green’s Lanning, eighth, 20:03.9; Korak, 13th, 20:28.7; and Glenn, 16th,
20:39.9 each advanced as individuals.
BG finished fifth as a team with 90 points. Notre Dame Academy was first with 35 points, followed by
Anthony Wayne, 71; and Ashland and St. Ursula Academy, 86 each.
Other results for the Bobcats were: Samara Okuly, 22nd, 21:12.1; and Susan Johnson, 31st, 21:41.0.
The top four teams and those individuals that finished in the top 16 not from a qualifying team advanced
to next Saturday’s Tiffin regional.
DIVISION II
Eastwood, Otsego advance
At Ottawa Park, Eastwood finished third out of 12 teams with 54 points in the District 1 race on Sunday.

All Division II races at Ottawa were postponed from Saturday to Sunday due to heavy rain in the area.
Van Wert was first with 52 points. Lexington was third with 53, and Tiffin Columbian was fourth with 127.

Results for Eastwood were: Maddie Jackson, fifth, 21:00.5; Meagan Kaminski, sixth, 21:05.0; Madi
Renollet, eighth, 21:43.7; McKayla Phillips, 13th, 22:00.0; and Sierra Corns, 22nd, 22:32.6.
The top four teams advanced to the Tiffin regional.
In the District 3 race, Otsego was fourth out of eight teams with 108 points. Napoleon was first with 39,
followed by Celina, 48; and Defiance, 54.
The top four teams advanced to the Troy regional next Saturday.
Results for Otsego were: Kylee Bernthisel, fifth, 20:36.6; Dayna Fackler, 20th, 22:36.8; Sadie VanHorn,
23rd, 23:04.3; Adeline Smith, 26th, 23:28.5; and Marisa DiBartolomeo, 42nd, 25:03.8.
In the District 2 race, Lake was 10th out of 12 teams with 291 points and Rossford was 11th with 305
points. Wauseon was first with 50 points, followed by Shelby and Lima Shawnee, 66 points each; and
Bellevue, 67.
Results for Lake were: Hailee Greenlese, 48th, 23:42.9; Amber Soncrant, 51st, 23:59.9; Alana Smith, 52nd,
24:00.9; Angela Santana, 69th, 26:19.2; and Tatiana Walters, 71st, 26:38.6.
Results for Rossford were: Liz Parisi, 35th, 22:56.5; Kacey Mullins, 63rd, 25:35.3; Brecken Schaller,
67th, 26:17.5; Shelbi Redway, 68th, 26:18.2; and Vicki Kralik, 72nd, 26:39.4.
The top four teams advanced to the Tiffin regional.
DIVISION III
Elmwood team, Lakota’s Reese,
Northwood’s Carbe advance
At Bettsville’s H.P. Eells Park, Elmwood finished second out of 12 teams with 85 points in the District 2
race on Saturday.
Hopewell-Loudon won the team title with 79 points, Seneca East was third with 98, and Mohawk was fourth
with 124.
Individually, Lakota’s Reese finished third overall in a time of 20:40.2.
In the District 1 race, Northwood’s Carbe was 12th in a time of 21:20.7.
North Baltimore finished 10th in the District II race with 240 points.
The top four teams and those individuals that finished in the top 16 not from a qualifying team advanced
to the Tiffin regional.
Results for Elmwood were: Ashley Wolfe, seventh, 21:11.6; Brittany Gross, 11th, 21:36.8; Miranda Wagner,
14th, 21:46.8; Jessica Murlin, 15th, 21:48.9; and Hayley Rinearson, 44th, 23:27.5.
Results for NB were: Chloe Hamlin, 21st, 22:17.0; Amanda Hotaling, 31st, 22:55.9; Jeanella Brown, 54th,
24:04.8; Mariah Leonard, 75th, 26:02.6; and Rachel Flores, 74th, 27:46.3.
Lakota and Northwood did not field full teams.
