BG Council sets Wednesday special session

Bowling Green City Council has called a special meeting for 5 p.m. Wednesday to consider two pieces of
legislation.
The special session is needed because at least one council member will be absent from Monday night’s
scheduled meeting and a second will be serving as acting mayor and unable to vote, making it impossible
to suspend rules for emergency clauses on legislation.
Council will consider legislation to obtain bonds for $3 million for an upgrade to the Dunbridge Road
electric substation. An emergency clause is needed to make the legislation effective in time to meet and
Oct. 30 deadline.
The upgrades will primarily serve Wood Bridge Business Park and Bowling Green State University.
The second ordinance is for a new contract with the BG Municipal Employees Association, which approved
its contract Monday.
The meeting will be in Council Chambers, 304 N. Church St.
