Roberts leaves BG men’s team
Wiley Roberts, a member of Bowling Green’s men’s basketball team last season, has decided not to use his
final year of eligibility.
He will remain at Bowling Green and concentrate on his academics.
BGSU women’s golf outing set
The Bowling Green Falcon women’s basketball team’s annual golf outing is Sept. 18 at Bowling Green
Country Club.
Tee times are at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The cost is $110 per golfer (teams of five) and includes a gift, rolls and coffee prior to the morning
tee times, lunch, and an evening social in the clubhouse plus hot dogs and cold beverages on the course.
Cost of the social only is $20.
The coaches and players, including the incoming freshmen will be on the course all day to mingle with
golfers and guests at the evening social.

BGHS sports passes available
Bowling Green High School is selling all-sports and individual sport passes for the 2011-2012 school
year.
The costs are: family all-sports, $250; adult all-sports, $90; student all-sports, $70; football-only
passes, $30 for adults, $25 for students; volleyball-only passes, $40 for adults, $35 for students;
basketball-only passes, $60 for adults, $50 for students; and soccer-only passes, $45 for adults, $35
for students.
Eastwood football scrimmage set
LUCKEY – The Eastwood High School football team will scrimmage Archbold at home on Aug. 19 at 6:30 p.m.

There is no cost to attend, but donations to the Community Food Pantry will be accepted. Anyone who
attends is asked to make a donation to help support families in need in an effort to help replenish the
reserves of the Community Food Pantry.
Any type of nonperishable food item can be donated including canned goods, condiments, tissues, paper
towels, hand soap, bar soap, and cash donations are always welcome.
Pemberville 5-miler set
PEMBERVILLE – The 30th Pemberville 5-Miler is Aug. 19 at 6:30 p.m. with the race starting at the Fire
Station.
The first 500 preregistered runners are guaranteed an Adidas technical fabric shirt along with a
commemorative spike bag. There will also be special awards to celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of
northwest Ohio’s largest road races.

BG Swim Club competes
INDIANAPOLIS – Bowling Green Swim Club members Jack Burroughs, Brigid Cavins and Emmy Sehmann competed at
the Central Zone Age Group Championships in Indianapolis recently.
Sehman was part of the 200-freestyle relay team that took first and also had five other top-seven
finishes in the event. Her finish in the 50 freestyle (27.79) and 100 freestyle (1:00.48) set the BGSC
club record for each event.
The three represented Team Ohio against teams from Indiana, Michigan, Iowa and Lake Erie. Swimmers who
qualify for this meet represent the top three percent of all age group swimmers from across the U.S.
Golferettes
The Bowling Green Country Club Golferettes held regular league play on Tuesday.
Flight winners were: A – Joyce Stearns, low gross, low net and low putts; B – Sharon Gargasz; C – Sarah
McDermott; D – Mary Gwin.
