Mary Elizabeth (Carr) Hennings, age 82, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away on July 11, 2011 at Bridge
Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green, Ohio.
She was born at home on September 28, 1928 to Arthur and Linnie (Sears) Carr. She married James Eugene
Hennings on April 7, 1951. He preceded her in death in 1977.
She was also preceded in death by her older brother, Victor J. (Betty) Carr of Columbus, Ohio and an
infant daughter and infant son.
Mary retired from St. Aloysius Catholic Church in 1995 after 25 years as parish secretary. Before that
she worked at Midwest Stamping in Bowling Green and attended Davis Business College after high school.

She loved to bowl, loved to play bingo, play cards and spend time with her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was known as Sis to her parents, brothers and
bowling buddies. She was Betty to her close friends and family members, or as Mary by her church
friends.
She was also a member of the Lady Elks
in Bowling Green.
Mary is survived by her brother, Thomas F. (Lee) Carr of Charlotte, NC, and her four daughters: Lisa
(David) Codding, and Lori Hennings of Bowling Green, OH, Leslie (David) Carrero of Clermont, FL, and
Linda (Glenn) Gill of Weston, OH. Also, her grandchildren who are Katie Abar of Ft. Dix, NJ, Laura
Codding of Chicago, IL, Michael Codding of Bowling Green, OH, Jacob Gill of Havelock, NC, Kelli Gill and
Jared Gill of Weston, OH, Joshua Carrero of Clermont, FL, and stepgrandchildren, Alexandra Sandy Silva,
David Carrero Jr., Jacqueline Spitzer and Isaac Carrero, all of the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area; two
great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by DUNN FUNERAL HOME, 408 West Wooster Street, located in the Historical
District of Bowling Green, Ohio. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00
p.m. in the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Church, 150 S.
Enterprise Street, Bowling Green, Ohio. Burial will immediately follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev.
Thomas Leyland will officiate.
Considerations for memorial contributions are the church at P.O. Box 485, Bowling Green or Bridge Hospice
Care Center for the Gift of Dreams fund, 1069 Klotz Road, Bowling Green.
