Horses ‘R’ Us
The Horses ‘R’ Us 4-H club met July 7 at the Wood County Fairgrounds.
Three equine demonstrations were given. Then the club disscused who was going to work what at the fair.
Campsites also were briefly discussed and the teams for Groom and Clean & Team Tournament were
selected.
On July 16 there will be a car wash at the TSC in Oregon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There also will be a bake
sale and a petting zoo.
The club agreed to buy a tent to put up by the arena during the fair.
The next meeting is July 21 to finish the barn.
Leaders of Tomorrow
The Leaders of Tomorrow 4-H group met on July 10. Members were reminded that miscellaneous judging is
July 14 from 1:30 to 6 p.m. while clothing and nutrition judging will be July 19 from 1:30 to 6 p.m.
The care packages made by the group were delivered to Toledo Hospital for chemotherapy patients.
The group made final decisions for the float and booth. Members will have a workday July 22 from 6 to 9
p.m.
Perry-Go-Getters
The meeting was held at the Stearns’ house on July 11 to prepare booth, decorate name tags, design
T-shirts.
A thank-you card was read from the Pickle Chase Committee for manning the water stands at the 5k race.
Recent livestock judging was discussed and the upcoming misc. judging. Members were reminded of set up
date on July 31 at 11 a.m. and milkshake duty on Wednesday from 10 – 12:30.
Refreshments were served by Laborie family and the Coleman Family. The next meeting is July 24 at the
Stearns house to finish booth.
