LIME CITY – Two Toledo residents were arrested after a robbery incident reported at the Walmart store at
10400 Fremont Pike June 27.
According to Perrysburg Township Police, at 4:20 p.m. John Thomas and Lisa Whittenberg, both of Toledo,
reportedly attempted to leave the store with items without paying for them, which they had placed in
Walmart bags smuggled into the store. The bags were placed in a cart.
The pair were stopped at the door by a 72-year-old greeter, who asked for a receipt for the items. When
they could not produce a receipt, she grabbed hold of the front of the cart.
Thomas then reportedly pushed the cart, dragging the greeter several feet until she let go. The couple
then left the scene.
Warrants were issued for the pair following the robbery and both were reportedly in custody as of Friday.
