Hope’s special service Sunday
Hope Lutheran Church, 13507 Cloverdale Road, ,will hold a special service Sunday.
Festivities begin with a potluck dinner at 5 p.m. The worship service will be at 6 p.m., followed by a
concert featuring Souls Harbor beginning at 6:30 p.m. There is no Sunday morning service.
Community worship planned
HASKINS – A community worship will be July 10 at 9:30 a.m. at Lusher Park, Haskins. The service is hosted
by both Haskins churches. Rev. Jennifer Jackson’s sermon is "We’ve Got Spirit, Yes We Do!"
There will be an ice cream social at the Lutheran Church at 4 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Deb Gottschalk.

July is special for Sugar Ridge church
SUGAR RIDGE – Sugar Ridge Community Church, 11634 Sugar Ridge Road is having two special events in July.

The congregation invites the public to join them this Sunday at "Wes Tracy Park" for its
"Service In The Sun." The worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a potluck following.

This will be the first event, weather permitting, on the church’s new property behind the church.
There will also be a baptism service at 10:30 a.m. July 17 at Randy Miller’s pond with a potluck
following. The home is located at 11610 Rudolph Road, Portage.
Fireworks invitation
The congregation of First United Methodist Church, 1526 E. Wooster St., invites the community to come and
watch Sunday night’s fireworks in Bowling Green from its front yard and parking lot.
In addition, many from the congregation of Sonlight Assembly of God, Weston, will gather at 8 p.m. in the
parking lot at the fireworks for a tailgate party. The public is invited to bring their tailgate
supplies and join in the pre-festivities.
Bible schools announced
RUDOLPH – In addition to those previously announced, Rudolph Christian Church will be hosting its
Vacation Bible School July 10-14 from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. daily.
The theme will be "Jesus is the Light." The sessions are for those age 3 through sixth grade.

There will also be a special missions project to raise funds to send solar lights to countries in need
through "Help Light the Night." Children will be earning ice cream and slushy treat coupons
for each solar light they sponsor.
Special guests, crafts, recreation, music, snacks and stories will fill the evening activities. No
pre-registration is needed.
NEW ROCHESTER – St. Paul Lutheran Church, New Rochester, will hold its VBS program July 17-21 from 6 to 8
p.m.

Rummage sale planned
St. Aloysius Catholic Church will hold a rummage sale on July 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and July 9 from 9
a.m. to noon.
Proceeds will benefit St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and The Connection Center, a psychological
clubhouse founded in 1999 as a program of Behavioral Connections of Wood County.
Donations of clean, usable household items, family clothing and interesting treasures are still needed to
make the sale successful. Items may be dropped off at the church, 150 S. Enterprise St., Wednesday or
Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m.
