PERRYSBURG – The city is seeking support from citizens for the 2011 fireworks display to take place on
the Perrysburg-Maumee Bridge July 3.
The fireworks will begin around 10 p.m., and no pedestrians will be allowed on the bridge from 8 p.m.
until the conclusion of the fireworks display due to safety concerns.
A Music in the Park concert will be held at Fort Meigs from 8 to 9:30 p.m. featuring Swingmania.
The fireworks display this year will cost about $27,000, according to a press release, with Maumee
providing $11,500 of the cost and Perrysburg supplying $15,500. That total does not include the cost of
support services, including police, fire, and EMS, required for the event.
Those wishing to make a contribution may send it to "Perrysburg Fireworks Fund" in care of the
Perrysburg mayor’s office at 201 W. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551-1582. They may also be dropped
off at the mayor’s office.
