BGSU Health and Human Services awards scholarships to local students

More than 35 students in Bowling Green State University’s College of Health and Human Services received
scholarships this spring.
The largest award, the Marjorie E. Conrad, M.D., Allied Health Profession Scholarship worth $2,000, went
to Tayler Finsel, a sophomore from Findlay; Kayla Johnston, a junior from Arcanum; and Ariana Wascher, a
junior from Norton.
Julia Moore, a senior from Fairview Park, received the Outstanding Senior Gerontology Program award and
the John Hiltner Gerontology Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.
Bowling Green resident Shivani Jethwa, a senior majoring in applied microbiology, was the recipient of
the Outstanding Senior in Applied Health Science award. She is a 2005 graduate of Popatlal Secondary
School in Tanzania and is the daughter of Pravin and Bharti Jethwa, Tanga, Tanzania.
Rebecca Joseph, also of Bowling Green and a senior majoring in nursing, was awarded the Dr. Ruth Kelly
Alumni Nursing Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. She is a 2008 graduate of Eastwood High School and
the daughter of Ron and Linda Joseph. She is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society and the
Student Nurses Association.
Brittany Parker, a sophomore majoring in communication sciences and disorders, was the recipient of the
Advocates Board Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. She is a 2008 graduate of Bowling Green High School
and the daughter of Bill and Jan Parker, Bowling Green. She is a member of Phi Sigma Pi national honors
fraternity, Alpha Lambda Delta honor society and BGSU’s National Society of Leadership and Success.
Rossford resident Paul Jones, a junior majoring in criminal justice, was the recipient of the Andrew
Lawrence Rowe Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500. He is a 2008 graduate of Rossford High School
and the son of David and Kelly Jones. He is a member of the Justice Student Association.
