Over the last few months the generosity of the people in BG and surrounding areas has proven that you all
have kind hearts and truly care enough to help those less fortunate.
The Wood Area Ministries held a "Feed the 5,000" food drive through area churches. The response
was overwhelming. The food collected benefitted BG Christian, St. Al’s and St. Thomas More food
pantries. It came at a time when the pantry shelves were getting law.
Then on May 14 the area postal carriers held a "Stamp Out Hunger" drive. The BG postal carriers
collected over 4,700 pounds of food. All the carriers did a fantastic job.
I especially want to thank Deb Knowlton for her constant help and organizing the drive.
We had a lot of volunteers who helped us sort and stock shelves that day, and it made the job go more
smoothly.
