Larry L. Hadley

Larry Lee Hadley, age 76, died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the home of his son Brian, in Charlotte, NC. He
passed away peacefully, watching the birds in the birdfeeder outside his window as was his habit.
He was born in Medford, Massachusetts on July 23, 1934, the second of four boys. He sold peanuts at the
Boston Braves games as a youngster. Later he moved to Ohio when his father was transferred by the Hoover
Vacuum company to Alliance. When the family moved to Bowling Green he finished his schooling and
graduated from Bowling Green High School. He worked at the family business – Cain’s Potato Chips-until
his schooling kept him from being able to attend to his duties.
He began college at the University of Toledo studying to be a pharmacist, where he met his future wife,
Sydney Ellsworth. He later married Sydney, and they moved together to Michigan so that he would be able
to attend the University of Michigan Medical School. He began his practice in Monroeville, Ohio in 1967,
and raised four children in nearby Norwalk. He operated his practice, and his sheep farm, until an
accident left him with partial brain damage in 1996. Larry lived in Charlotte, NC, on his own and then
with his son from 2000 until his death.
He is preceded in death by his brother Tom, mother Helen, and father Walter.
He is survived by his brothers, Dan and Carter, and his four children, Glenn, Ann, Brian and Catharine.
He also leaves behind four grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Milan, Ohio at 10
a.m. and service to follow at 11 a.m.
