Wyandot church sets its summer schedule

UPPER SANDUSKY – The Wyandot Mission Church has announced its 2011 summer schedule.
Founded by John Stewart in 1816, the stone Mission Church, which was built in 1824, is open during June
through August with worship services each Sunday at 8 a.m.
The building was restored in 1889 after more than 50 years out of service.
The landmark church is open from 1 to 4 p.m. each Friday, Saturday and Sundays during those months.

This summer’s first service will be June 5 and led by Rev. Ben Gregory, Church of the Nazarene pastor of
Upper Sandusky. Various other area pastors will lead services through Aug. 28.
Eagle Bear Burling, the Ohio representative of the Wyandot tribe, who is also a certified lay speaker in
the United Methodist Church, is an annual visitor. He will lead the July 3 service.
One other visitor will be Rev. Dr. Stanley Walters, pastor in religious studies at Tyndale University
College in Toronto, Canada. He will lead the Aug. 21 service.
The church is located on East Church Street, one block east of Ohio Route 53.
