TONTOGANY – The 102nd annual Haskins High School Alumni Banquet was held May 21 at the Lybarger-Grimm
American Legion Hall. There were 38 members and friends attending the swiss steak dinner served by Unit
No. 441 of the legion.
The classes of 1941 and 1951 were honored. Howard Limes was the only member present from the class of
1941. Roy Dale Snyder, another member of the class, lives in Texas and could not attend.
Pauline Downard was the only member present from the class of 1951.
A special honor was given to the oldest member present, Betty Browne Bernthisel, who graduated in 1938.
Also remembered were members who died in 2010.
The future of the banquet was discussed, with the decision made to continue next year with the same
committee that planned this year’s event.
Concerns were expressed regarding low attendance; everyone was encouraged to help increase attendance for
next year’s banquet.
The evening included singing old favorites with Laurie Limes at the piano.
