Woman’s Club installs officers at breakfast

The Woman’s Club of Bowling Green celebrated the end of its club year with installation of officers and
chairmen at the annual breakfast held May 7 at the clubhouse.
New officers are Norma Stickler, president; Barbara Applebaum, first vice president; Roberta Lane and Sue
DiBiasio, co-second vice president, and Vicki Harris, secretary. Joan Gordon was re-elected treasurer.
Carla Blinn, president of the Northwest District, was the installing office.
Chairmen for the upcoming term will be Becky Bhaer, membership; Sharon Franklin, social; Donna Schmidt,
music; Linda Hamilton, inspiration; Jo Vernon, sunshine; Mary Mackzum, arts community service program;
Mary Etta Hemmerly, conservation community program service; Amy Rahmel, education-writing contest;
Jessica Hover, education-scholarship; Evelyn Bachman, home life; Marilynn Ward, international outreach;
Jean Lanning, public issues; Earlene Kilpatrick, long-range planning; Kathy East, domestic violence
awareness; Barbara, Ruland, publicity; Lynette Rosebrook, historian; Joan Gordon, program book and
newsletter; Sharon Franklin, house rentals; and Roberta Lane, house.
The club presented its Elma Zelman Music Scholarship to McKayela Collins, a student at Bowling Green
State University. Donna Schmidt, music chairman, announced the award.
Lauren Marshall, a Bowling Green High School senior, was announced as the winner of the club’s other
scholarship. Norma Stickler, scholarship chairman, presented this award at the high school’s annual
program earlier this month.
The program was given by Joan Slebos, retired Bowling Green teacher and a "collector of all things
possible." Her talk was titled "Collectibles Have Taken Over My Life."
Linda Kuhn, outgoing president, conducted the meeting and coordinated the presentations. She was
presented with a gift for her two years of service as president.
The club is in recess until fall, with its first meeting scheduled for Sept. 7.
