Jackson Livestock
Jackson Livestock 4-H Club held its monthly meeting on Sunday.
The members used this meeting to conduct their annual quality assurance training. Adviser Matt Davis
discussed with the members good production practices and did activities with the group related to the
good production practices and animal welfare. At the conclusion of the meeting President Austin Davis
reminded members of demonstrations, recycling and to be thinking about ideas for the club’s 2011 fair
booth.
All members reported they had completed their roadside litter pick up.
The next meeting will be June 5 at the Northwest Agricultural Research Farm.
Perry Go Getters
The Perry Go Getters met Sunday at Perry Township Fire Hall with 10 people present.
Members discussed booth ideas and finalized plans for its car wash on June 4 from 10 a.m. to noon at
Autozone in Fostoria .
Demonstrations were given by Ryan Meek on safely swimming, Lorne Strausbaugh on how to make a float and
Joe Laborie on starting seeds
The next meeting is June 12 at the same place.
Members played four corners for recreation. Casey Heller provided refreshments
4-Leaf Clover Kids
The 4-Leaf Clover Kids 4-H Club met Sunday at the Portage Hall.
Members went over old business which was the canned goods. The health and safety report was called
"Exercise is Awesome." The club also went over the booth/float ideas and then voted to have is
a beach theme. It will be called either "Making Waves with 4-H" or "Making a Splash with
4-H."
New business included a review of all the 4-H camps that are upcoming. Members were informed there is a
4-H day at Cedar Point on June 4.
The club decided to sponsor relief efforts in Japan for the Walk across Wood County money. Members were
informed of the times to work the milkshake barn for the fair. Bake sale posters were made, with members
reminded to include for the bake sale items on the label the ingredients that were used.
The next meeting is May 28 at 9 a.m. followed by the bake sale which is at Belleville’s Meat Market in
Bowling Green.
