Vets to lead Memorial Day church service
The worship service on Memorial Day Sunday (May 29) at Trinity United Methodist Church in Bowling Green,
will be led by the military veterans of the church.
Music will include the singing of our National Anthem. The Sermon, "Bible Stories and War Stories,:
will be presented by U. S. Army Veteran Herb Dettmer. Veterans and active duty personnel will be
recognized. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The church is located at 200 North Summit, across from the county courthouse.
Service with Mexican theme
Turning Point Church, South Main Street, Bowling Green, will reach out to the Latino community on Sunday
at its 11 a.m. service.
The guest speaker will be Rev. Lupina Stewart from Mexico. Her ministry is to reach out and assist those
in the Latino community, including migrant workers and all Spanish speaking people in the area. Stewart
is connected with the United Methodist Watershed District Office in Maumee.
The public, especially all Spanish speaking families are invited to attend. The service will be followed
by Mexican cuisine downstairs in the Fellowship Hall.
Haitian visitor returns
BRADNER – St. James Lutheran Church welcomes a guest speaker on Sunday who runs a church and school in
Haiti. Mary Jane (Basel) Jolibois grew up at St. James and is now operating the Living Hope Ministries
and School in Mariani, Haiti.
Her topic for the worship will be "Living Hope Since the Earthquake."
The public is invited to attend.
Concerts planned
¥ NORTH BALTIMORE – Truck Stop Ministries, Inc., has scheduled two concerts for the Trucker’s Chapel at
the Petro Truck Stop, 1 Deshler Road, located at Interstate 75 and Ohio 18.
Donna Sue and Jimmy Potridge will be in concert Sunday at 6 p.m., with Jericho Road on May 29, also at 6.
Those attending should bring their own lawn chair.
¥ FINDLAY -The Lighthouse 2011 concert series includes a performance at 6 p.m. Saturday at the facility,
10055 Ohio 224 W, Findlay. Singers will be Hearts of Faith from Waynesville, Trinity from Kentucky, and
two groups from Indiana, His Way II and Masters Own.
Food will be served for a donation with food donations going to Salvation Army.
Fourth Tuesday meal set
GRAND RAPIDS – The Fourth Tuesday monthly meal will be held Tuesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Hosanna
Lutheran Church, 23019 Kellogg Road, Grand Rapids.
This month’s menu features ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and much more.
The public is invited with donations accepted.
Vacation Bible Schools deadline is Wednesday
Churches holding Vacation Bible Schools in June should submit details by Wednesday.
