Owens golf finishes third
PERRYSBURG – Owens Community College’s golf team finished third Monday in the four-team Ohio Community
College Athletic Conference Championship at Belmont Country Club.
The Express shot a 638 total. Columbus State won the four-team tournament with a 626 total.
Owens’ scores were: Kyle Anderson, 80-77-157; Kyle Simmons, 86-73-159; Greg Hermes, 85-77-162; BGHS
graduate Brooks Gardner, 88-82-170; and Casey Lawless, 78-86-164.
Columbus State’s Andy Henahan was the medalist (78-74-152).
Owens baseball sweeps
Owens Community College’s baseball team is 23-11 and 7-5 in the Ohio Community College Athletic
Conference after a 5-4, 5-0 sweep of Cuyahoga CC Monday.
In the first game, Owens’ Michael Louis had a double and two runs batted in.
In the second game, Owens’ Ryan Hotmer was 2-for-2 with a double, run scored and two RBI. He’s a graduate
of Lake High School.
