Humane society takes adoptions on the road
The Wood County Humane Society’s Outreach Adoption Program has scheduled five events in May.
The first is Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Petco in Bowling Green.
On May 13 there will be two events, both from 2 to 4 p.m., one at Weston Library and the other at Pets
Supplies Plus on U.S. 20.
Grand Rapids Library will be the site of an outreach May 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. The last event will be May
21 at the Sears Outlet, on U.S. 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A grant from the Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Foundation funds the effort.
ABLE offers help at library Thurs.
Wood County District Public Library is partnering with Advocates for Basic Equality and Legal Aid of
Northwest Ohio as an outreach location for its Mobile Benefit Bank.
The bank can assist eligible individuals and families in applying for food stamps, WIC, medical
assistance, child care assistance and other programs. Also available is free legal assistance with
issues such as bankruptcy, credit card debt, foreclosure prevention, landlord-tenant issues and living
will and power of attorney matters.
Information is available from ABLE at (419) 255-0814. ABLE staff will be at a table on the second floor
of the library, 251 N. Main St., from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursdays to complete legal assessments.
