William "Don" Contris, 67, of Pemberville, Ohio passed away Friday, April 15, 2011.
He was born in Lima, Ohio to William and Maxine (Judy) Walter. He married Mona Tomlinson of September 23,
1966 and they later divorced.
Don is survived by his children, Lisa (Doug) Contris-Ruck, Kristi Contris, Jill (Chad) Contris-Kingery,
Brian (Jill) Contris, all of Pemberville, and Cara Contris of Westlake Ohio. Also surviving are two
sisters, Tammy Contris of Florida and Karol Wells of Lafeyette, Ohio, three brothers, Chuck Contris of
Florida, Denny Contris of Alabama and Dave Contris of North Carolina. He is also survived by eight
grandchildren, Tyler, Kyra, Holden, Cooper, Paige, Grace, Cade and Carys.
Don was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Mickle.
Don was the owner of Pioneer Packing and Trotters Tavern in Bowling Green, Ohio. He also owned Country
Smoked Meats, Midway Meats, County Pride, Barr Hotel, Shinew’s Supply, Front St. CafĂ© and various
entities in the Belize, Central America.
In his spare time, Don enjoyed being outside gardening.
He also was an avid collector of various vintage cars and his pride were his Corvettes. Don enjoyed going
to car shows and auctions around the community where he met many friends.
Don was a member of the Bowling Green Elks and the Bowling Green State University Falcon Club.
He enjoyed entertaining friends and was considered the "life of the party."
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME
& CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster St., PO Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402; Tele: 419/352-2171,
where the Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Interment will follow in the
Pemberville Cemetery.
