Mabel L. Dick, 89, of rural Cygnet passed away at 6:03 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Blanchard
Valley Hospital, Findlay.
Mabel was born on June 14, 1921 to the late John W. and Mary (Corfman) Hawk in North Baltimore, OH. She
married Jack Dick on October 7, 1938, in Bloomdale, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1998.
Mabel is survived by two daughters: Mary Lee (Michael) Benedict of rural Findlay and Sherry (James)
Snyder of rural Findlay; six grandchildren: Jason (Peggy) Benedict, Jenny (Nate) Hohman, Elisabeth
(Patrick) Robinson, Jared Benedict, Aaron (Kris) Snyder, and Kelli (Mark) Montrella; 12
great-grandchildren: Donyelle Wilhelm, Mikayla Benedict, Logan Benedict, Jaclynn Hohman, Paige Hohman,
Blaire Hohman, Carmen Hohman, Lily Robinson, Crossland Hawk Robinson, Daisy Robinson, Maclain Robinson,
Jackson Gregory Snyder, and one baby girl Snyder on the way; a brother-in-law, Frank Dick; and a
sister-in-law, Margie Dick.
Mabel was also preceded in death by brother, Charles Hawk and sister, Edna Causey.
Mabel was a homemaker and a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Baltimore, OH, where
her heart was to serve. Mabel was also involved with The Easy Rider 4-H Club and loved horses.
Mabel was an active supporter and advocate of the North Baltimore community, its schools and education,
athletics, and she also worked the election boards, and numerous other events in the community. Family
was extremely important to Mabel, she would always say, "I Am Blessed." She thoroughly enjoyed
outings and weekend trips with her daughters and their spouses. She loved all of her time spent with the
grandchildren, friends, church, and community.
Funeral services will be at 2
p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Baltimore, OH. Visitation
will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, OH
and one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Pastor Ralph Mineo will
officiate and burial will follow in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.
Memorials may be made in her memory in lieu of flowers to St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
