Evelyn Ruth Lashuay, age 65, of Wayne, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday (April 12, 2011) at the Texas Health
Harris Methodist Hospital in Azle, Texas.
She was born on August 2, 1945 in Bowling Green to the late Merle and Ruth (Simmons) Spathe. She married
David M. Lashuay on September 15, 1963 in Bowling Green.
Surviving are her loving husband of 47 years, David; son, Michael (Carolyn) Lashuay of Bellefontaine;
daughters, Dawn (Todd) Coleman of Wayne, Beth (Trace) Mayfield of Keller, Texas; brothers, Nelson Spathe
of Harrison, Michigan, Allen Spathe of Harrison, Michigan; grandchildren, Taren, Brandon, Azia, Jamison,
Payton, Amelia; great-grandchildren, Michael and Annika and her two loving yorkies Liat and Layla.
Evelyn attended Mt. Zion United Brethren Church, was a member of the Red Hat Club and the Fostoria
Grandmother’s Club.
She was a 1963 graduate of Bowling Green High School.
She enjoyed spending time with family (especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren) and her
friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (April 19, 2011) at Barndt Funeral Home in
Wayne, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (April 20, 2011) with
Pastor Mike Soltis officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Wayne, with a bereavement
luncheon to follow at the church.
