Palm Sunday service to feature string trio

TONTOGANY – The Tontogany Presbyterian Church welcomes BGSU string trio for Palm Sunday Worship
Celebration.
On April 17 at 10 a.m. at the church, Mark Minnich, Sally Williams and Alex Biniker will offer a worship
service of song, scripture and prayer in celebration of God’s reign in the world through Jesus Christ as
King.
Williams and Minnich, both violinists, are studying music at Bowling Green State University, while
Biniker, the cellist of Toledo, is a sophomore majoring in business.
Williams of Elyria, began playing the violin at age 4 with Suzuki teacher, Molly Johnson. When she was
16, she was accepted as a preparatory student at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied
with David Russell. She has performed with many orchestras, including: Northeastern Ohio Regional
Orchestra, Ohio All-State Orchestra, Baldwin Wallace Youth Orchestra, Firelands Symphony, the Toledo
International Youth Orchestra, United States Youth Ensembles, the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra,
and the BGSU Philharmonia.
She was concertmaster of Northeastern Regional Orchestra in 2006-07 and is co-concertmaster of the BGSU
Philharmonia.
Williams is a senior pursuing bachelor degrees in Music Performance and Music Composition at BGSU. She
currently studies with Vasile Beluska, and has given concerts throughout Ohio, and in six European
countries.
Swanton native Minnich began playing violin at age nine with Romanian violinist Anca Gavris, and one year
later began lessons with Professor Vasile Beluska at Bowling Green State University. He has performed
with members of the Toledo Symphony, as a soloist with the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, and as
concertmaster of the Toledo Junior Youth Orchestra, the Toledo Youth Orchestra, Northwestern Ohio
Regional Orchestra and the BGSU Philharmonia. He has also been concertmaster of the Toledo International
Youth Orchestra, with which he has performed in China, Canada, Germany, Poland, Tanzania and Austria.
Minnich is currently a junior at Bowling Green State University, majoring in violin performance.
There will be a luncheon following the worship service. All are welcome.
