Portage Valley
The fourth meeting of Portage Valley was held on Sunday. Faith Hardy, health and safety, spoke of the
importance of water and handed out paperwork for Walk Across Wood County. The club voted to raise money
for Make -A-Wish. Enrollments were due Friday.
Discussion was made regarding upcoming camps and members were encouraged to sign up. The club extended
thanks to Frobose’s Meat Locker for the donation to the club for camp scholarships. Thank you letters
were circulated for Frobose’s and Front Street Cafe.
Reminder to all members that Community Service Easter Baskets will be put together at the next meeting,
April 10. Each member is to bring items to fill the baskets. David Hardy talked about a community garden
that will be started to benefit the food bank and senior nutrition program. The garden will be run by
Grace Lutheran Church as well as the club.
Dues need to be paid to Austin Seifert by May 15.
Demonstrations were given by Olivia Hardy on "Wind Turbines, Catching the Wind;" Michaela
Moenter, "Budgeting for a Dairy Beef Feeder Project" and Eric Kohring, "Nutrition for
Sheep."
Project books were available for members to look at and order if necessary.
