The man convicted of breaking and entering into Andrew Z’s Pizzeria, was sentenced to three years of
community control sanctions this morning.
David Wright, 44, of Maumee, was given the sentence by Wood County Common Pleas Court Judge Alan
Mayberry.
Wright pleaded guilty in February to the charge which stemmed from a break-in at the former Perrysburg
Levis Commons eatery operated by radio personality Andrew Zepeda.
The break-in occurred in October 2010 following the closure of the Perrysburg restaurant.
As part of the conditions for his community control, Wright was ordered random drug testing and to
complete the Moral Reconation Therapy program. Mayberry also told Wright he is not to consume alcohol
nor frequent any bars. He must also attend Alcoholic Anonymous or similar program.
Additional conditions include finding and maintaining employment and to complete 100 hours of community
service.
Mayberry also told Wright, he will hold 12 months in prison in reserve should he fail to comply with all
his community control sanctions.
The judge also ordered restrictions on the use of more than one pharmacy and to keep the probation
department apprised of his primary care physician. He is also subject to random drug testing.
When given the chance to address the court, Wright apologized for his actions.
Zepeda was granted an intervention in lieu of conviction for his crimes in the case.
Mayberry ordered Wright have no contact with Zepeda, nor his uncle, Paul Zepeda, who were both charged
for various crimes in relation to this case. The latter case is still pending in Mayberry’s court.
Wright is also facing a second related count filed earlier this year of tampering with evidence. That
case is still pending with a further pre-trial hearing in that case is set for April 29 at 10:30 a.m.
