Eileen
Becker, 92, (formerly of Bowling Green), passed away Wednesday, March
30, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She had resided at Avalon in
Perrysburg for three years where she had many friends.
She
was born in Portage, Ohio to Frank and Ina (Shroyer) Van Vorhis. She
married Sam Becker in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1977. Also
preceding were here parents, son Jim Cavin, sister Willow Marie Van
Vorhis and brothers, Floyd and Everett Van Vorhis.
Eileen
is survived by a daughter, Sharon (George) Legassee of Littleton, CO.,
brother, Emerson Van Vorhis of Bowling Green, two sisters, Jean (Ed)
Flynn of Perrysburg and Lois (Richard) Haberstock of Waterville. She
also leaves grandchildren: Deb (Eric) Brenamen, Kenny and Brian Brenamen
of Littleton, CO., Cindy (Joe) Daly of Toledo, Dan Cavin , and Diana
(Jerry) Foster, of Bowling Green, Carol (Mario) Martinez of Tontogany
and Robbie Cavin of Custar. There are ten Great-grandchildren, Thirteen
Great, Great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Eileen
was a homemaker through her life, she enjoyed baking, cooking and
gardening. She was loved by many friends and most of all, her family.
Eileen was very spirited, lively and quick-witted. She enjoyed art & crafts
at Avalon in Perrysburg. The many memories Eileen blessed her family
with will be cherished and she will be missed by everyone whose lives
she touched.
A
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m at the
DUNN FUNERAL HOME in Bowling Green. Visitation is Friday from 6 to 8
p.m. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
Memorial
contributions may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the charity
