BG hosts state Special Olympics tourney

Drew Brown (15) from the Erie County Bucks (below) brings the ball up the court Friday during the Special
Olympics state basketball tournament being held in Bowling Green this weekend. The state tournament
features 28 teams representing 18 Ohio counties. The individual skills contest will have more than 300
athletes representing 15 Ohio counties, including Wood County. The state tournament involves semifinals
and finals in eight divisions. Championship and consolation games are today with starting times of 9 and
11 a.m., and 1 and 3 p.m. at Anderson Arena, Perry Field House; the Community Center; and Bowling Green
High School. All Special Olympics games are free and open to the public.
