LIME CITY – A series of thefts were reported at several stores along Fremont Pike in Perrysburg Township
in recent days.
According to Perrysburg Township Police, on March 12 an officer was called to Walmart on Fremont Pike
after a man had reportedly stolen 20 cans of baby formula and one bag of cat food, valued at a total of
$302.57. The suspect in the incident was identified.
Another theft was reported March 14, in which three teenage females reportedly stole makeup valued at
$79.65.
A second theft was reported that day after officers were dispatched to the store regarding a man removing
wrapping from a computer. The man, identified as Kevin Smart, Toledo, was stopped outside of the store
and found to have several containers of baby formula, a computer, dog food, and a blue tote, which he
did not pay for, in his possession, amounting to over $1,000. Merchandise was also found in his vehicle,
which had been taken from a Meijer store in Toledo. Additionally found in the car were hypodermic
needles and a spoon containing residue. Smart reportedly admitted he had taken the merchandise to sell
or trade for heroin.
He was arrested and charged with theft, receiving stolen property, and possession of drug abuse
instruments.
On March 13, Mark Doroda Jr., Toledo, was arrested after leaving Best Buy on Fremont Pike after units
were called to the report of a theft. Four Wii video game controllers, valued at $160, were found taped
to his person. Doroda was charged with theft. A warrant for complicity to theft was issued for Jacob
Lagrange, Toledo, who reportedly was driving the vehicle to assist in the thefts, but had previously
left the parking lot.
On March 14, at Kohl’s on Fremont Pike, Amber Bomyea, Perrysburg, was arrested for theft after she was
observed attempting to steal three necklaces and two bottles of soap, valued at a total of $70.
On March 16, Jessica Buckner, Rossford, was arrested for theft at Best Buy after she reportedly had
stolen items from the nearby Office Max store.
