Sunshine Artist, the leading publication for the art fair circuit, has given the Black Swamp Arts
Festival a rave review in its February issue.
The piece compiled from reports from artists praised the show for the quality of its art and the balance
of media, noting because more artists are applying "the show could be more selective."
Noting the range of activities beyond the juried art show, Sunshine Artist said: "This festival
draws impressive crowds who want to enjoy the community’s culture."
Artists exhibiting averaged up to $2,400 in sales at the show, with at least one photographer bringing in
$6,000.
Also getting high marks from artists were the show’s layout, management, artist treatment and artist
amenities.
"Well organized, great, steady crowd that buys," the magazine quoted one photographer as
saying.
All the artists who reported to Sunshine Artist said they would like to return.
"The folks there love our work," one artist reported.
This year’s festival is being planned for Sept. 9 through 11.
