Brad Conner to be BG’s new chief of police

Mayor John Quinn announced early Thursday afternoon that Major Brad Conner will be the next Police Chief
of Bowling Green.
“Brad
Conner is a dedicated, hard-working, and loyal law enforcement agent,”
Quinn said. “He is actively involved in the Bowling Green community
and, in his new position, Brad will continue
to work as a community collaborator for the betterment of our city. As
the Chief of Police, Brad will also be an exemplary leader for the
Bowling Green Police Division. I am pleased that he has accepted this
position and I am confident in his abilities to
lead the Police Division.”
Conner
has worked for the Police Division since June 1, 1981 when he was hired
as a patrol officer. He was promoted to sergeant in 1991 and lieutenant in 1997. He was namedd deputy
police chief in 2006.
Conner will become chief effective March 19, when the current chief, Gary Spencer, retires.
Conner
holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Bowling Green
State University and has received extensive leadership and executive law
enforcement training. He is also a graduate
of the FBI National Academy.
