Child sexual abuse prevention training March 10 in BG

A Stewards of Children child sexual abuse prevention training will be offered March 10 from 6 to 9 p.m.
in Classroom A/B at the Bowling Green Community Center, 1245 W. Newton Road.
Stewards of Children is an interactive prevention program developed by Darkness to Light, a national
child sexual abuse prevention organization. It educates adults to take an active role in identifying and
preventing child sexual abuse.
Three continuing education units are offered for counselors, social workers and nurses. However, the
training is not just for professionals. It is also for community members and parents.
Participants will:
¥ Hear stories from survivors of child sexual abuse regarding their victimization and healing and learn
from their experiences.
¥ Learn "The 7 Steps To Protecting Our Children", Darkness to Light’s core educational tool for
sexual abuse prevention.
¥ Receive a workbook about the nature and impact of childhood sexual abuse.
¥ Be challenged to take personal responsibility for the safety of all children.
