DJ Deiter (from left) of Modern Woodmen presents a check for $500 to
Mitch Emmitt, Nick Goebel and coach Dave Lee of the Elmwood wrestling
team. In the fall of 2010, Modern Woodmen provided funds to update the
Royals’ facility and to purchase new equipment. The project was part of
the organization’s Good Neighbors Program, a nationwide program that
gives Modern Woodmen chapters across the country $500 for hands-on
repair or building of community improvements. Nearly 500 such projects
benefit communities in the United States annually. (Photo: J.D. Pooley/Sentinel-Tribune)
