Dottie Lemmerbrock, 65, of Bowling Green, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Bridge Hospice Care
after a two-year battle with bladder cancer.
She was born to the late Lloyd and Edna Lawrence, July 10, 1945, North Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her older brother, Larry.
Dottie graduated from Coats High School in 1963 and went on to receive her beautician’s license and an
associates degree in laboratory sciences. She moved to Bowling Green in the spring of 1969.
During her professional career, Dottie worked in the lab at the Wood County Hospital, in the office of
Dr. Wherry and for the dentists, Drs. Phipps and Levin. She spent many years working as an office
manager for Dr. Wayne Michaelis, getting to know many orthodontic patients in Wood County. For the past
19 years she worked for Behavioral Connections of Wood County in the positions of support staff, Drug
Testing Compliance Specialist Coordinator, and Support Staff Supervisor.
Dottie enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Cade, and chasing after her beloved dog, Chloe. Even
through her battle with cancer, Dottie did her best to make it to work each day, having worked up until
the third week of December, 2010. She could be found having lunch each day with her "sisters,"
Terry and Paula.
Dottie is survived by her daughter, Carla (Jim) Carter of North Baltimore, and her niece, Becky (Steven)
Stanley of Four Oaks, North Carolina. She also is survived by three grandchildren, Samantha, Amanda, and
Cade.
Memorials may be made to the Dottie Lemmerbrock Memorial Fund in care of Behavioral Connections of Wood
County.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 8th, from 6 until 8 p.m, at Dunn Funeral Home, Bowling
Green, with a Memorial Service at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 9th at 11 a.m.
The family wishes to thank the nurses at Bridge Hospice Care of Bowling Green, for the special care and
compassion which was given to Dottie.
