Top-ranked Toledo St. Francis clinched the Northwest Hockey Conference Red Division championship Saturday
with a 9-2 victory over Bowling Green in the Ice Arena. PHOTO GALLERY
The Knights, 27-3-1 overall, won the division with a 7-1 record, one-game ahead of Northview (6-2).
BG fell to 7-15-3 overall and 0-7-1 in the league.
St. Francis dominated the game, scoring three times in the first period and extending the lead to 6-0 in
the second period before BG scored its first goal at 6:52 on Jacob Paluch’s penalty shot.
Paluch scored both BG goals.
The Knights finished with a 58-10 edge in shots on goal. BG’s Nick Morris made 49 saves.
BG will face fourth-seeded Findlay in the first round of the division playoffs Friday at Sylvania
Tam-O-Shanter.
The winner plays St. Francis in the semifinals next Saturday at 7 p.m. The championship is next Sunday at
1 p.m.
