Issues in Second Ward are priority for Zanfardino

Bowling Green City Council President John Zanfardino declared that he will be seeking another term as
Second Ward City Councilor.
Zanfardino is proud of the work that council has accomplished. "We have maintained tight control
over the city budget while maintaining important city services. This is important given the tough
economic pressures that our community faces."
Zanfardino, who lives at 244 S. Summit St., sees the most important issues in the Second Ward are
protection of the property values and rights of homeowners, land-use and zoning. Zanfardino stated,
"I own a house in a neighborhood that has a mixture of students and long-term residents; we need to
keep working hard to address issues related to quality of life."
He supports and promotes small businesses.
Zanfardino is a habilitation coordinator at the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities. He has
worked in social services since 1978; he has been employed at Wood Lane as well as at the Wood County
Mental Health Clinic. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bowling Green State
University.
He was first elected to council in 2005.
