BG swimmers compete in meets

The Bowling Green Swim Club competed in the FWA Winter Classic and the NAC mini meet recently.
At the FWA meet, BG’s boys and girls combined to score 264 points, good for 13th in the 19-team event.

Emmy Sehman, 13-year old, was the girls’ top performer, placing in the top six of eight different events.

Sehman took second in the 200-freestyle and 200-backstroke, and third in the 500-freestyle,
100-freestyle, and 50-freestlye.
For the boys, Christian Sobczak (13-year old) took first in the 100-backstroke and earned second in the
200-backstroke.
Other top finishers for BG were: Brigid Cavins, 10-year old girls, first, 100-breast stroke, and second,
50-breast stroke;
No team scores were kept at the NAC mini-meet, which was held at Napoleon High School.
CJ Layne (9-year old boys) won one event and took second in three others for BG. Layne was first in the
50-breast stroke, and second in the 50-butterly, 50-freestlye, and 50-backstroke.
Other top finishers for BG were: Rona Mejiritski, 10-year old girls, first, 50-butterfly; Caitlyn Grubbs,
9-year old girls, second, 50-butterfly and 50-breast stroke, and third, 50-freestyle and 50-backstroke;
Eva McClure, seven-year old girls, second, 25-freestyle, 25-backstroke, and 25-breaststroke; Claire
Hunter, 8-year old girls, second, 25-butterfly, third, 25-backstroke; Calvin Price, seven-year old boys,
second, 25-breast stroke, and third, 25-freestyle; Lily Hunter, 10-year old girls, third, 50-backstroke;
Garrett Germann, 9-year old boys, third, 50-butterfly; Gretchen Germann, 6-year old girls, third,
25-backstroke; Cate McClure, nine-year old girls, third, 50-breast stroke.
