Prep Roundup – Eastwood boys defeat Genoa (for 1-28-11)

Eastwood’s boys moved into a tie for third place in the Suburban Lakes League with a 54-38 home victory
over Genoa Thursday.
In other games in the SLL, it was: Elmwood 60, Lake 43; and Woodmore 54, Otsego 49.
In girls Midland Athletic League games, it was: North Baltimore 58, Hopewell-Loudon 37; and Seneca East
50, Lakota 48.
In a Northern Lakes League girls game, Anthony Wayne defeated Springfield, 56-31.
BOYS
Eastwood 60, Genoa 43
In Luckey, Eastwood built a 27-15 lead at halftime and cruised to the league win.
The Eagles are 4-7 overall and 4-3 in the SLL.
Jake Faykosh led Eastwood with 16 points while Justin Faykosh added 13. Cody Jennings added eight points
and a team-high eight rebounds and Caleb Vespi chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds.
Eric Shimming led the Comets, now 4-7, 1-6, with 13 points.
Woodmore 54, Otsego 49
In Tontogany, Otsego dropped to 3-10 overall and 2-5 in the SLL with the loss.
Ryan Smoyer had 24 points to lead the Knights, while A.C. Limes added 11 points and eight rebounds. Tommy
Rodgers had eight assists for Otsego.
Donny Bowen led Woodmore (8-5, 5-2) with 24 points.
GIRLS
North Baltimore 58, Hopewell-Loudon 37
In North Baltimore, Jessica Frost scored 17 points to lead the Tigers to the MAL victory.
Rachel Flores added 11 points for NB (11-5, 4-3) and Megan Wright chipped in with six points and seven
rebounds.
Hopewell is 4-10, 2-5.
Seneca East 50, Lakota 48
In Attica, Lakota dropped to 3-10 overall and 1-7 in the MAL with the loss.
Seneca East is 8-5, 3-4.

Anthony Wayne 56, Springfield 31
In Whitehouse, AW improved to 6-3 in the NLL with the victory.
Emma Rickets led all players with 14 points for the Generals, now 9-4 overall.
Springfield is 3-10, 1-8.
