Perrysburg 44, Rossford 30
In Rossford, the Yellow Jackets out-scored the Bulldogs 14-3 in the third quarter after holding a 20-17
lead at halftime.
Lindsay Matolyak led Perrysburg with 10 points and Kendall Tudor added nine points.
“It’s a big win for us,” Perrysburg coach Todd Sims said. “Obviously (Rossford) played Northview really
tough the other night … So to come here and get a road league win is a great win no matter what.”
The Bulldogs, coming off a 39-32 loss at league-leading Northview on Tuesday, were led by Courtney
Trenchik’s 11 points. Abbey Geraghty added seven points.
Rossford is now 6-7 overall and 2-5 in the NLL.
“The third quarter was really the turning point of the game,” Rossford coach Kevin Mitchell said. “I
thought we had some opportunities coming out of the locker room and we just didn’t convert, and they
did.”
Perrysburg has a non-league game tonight at home against Notre Dame Academy. The ’Jackets trail Northview
by one game in the league standings.
“I like where we’re at,” Sims said. “To be in the league race, obviously the games are a lot more
exciting. It’s just one game at a time.”
Rossford’s next game is at Maumee on Tuesday.
“We certainly played probably the best two teams in the league this week and I think we were respectable
in both games,” Mitchell said. “In this league every night you play good teams. But we feel good. We’ll
just keep working at it and try to get better.”
