Matsumoto reassigned to minors by Hurricanes
RALEIGH, N.C. – Former Bowling Green Falcon Jonathan Matsumoto has been reassigned from the National
Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.
Matsumoto was recalled to Carolina on an emergency basis on Jan. 7 and played in two games for the
Hurricanes.
Matsumoto, 24, has played in 13 games with the Hurricanes this season, scoring two goals. In 25 AHL games
this season with the Checkers, the native of Ottawa, Ontario has notched 10 goals and earned 14 assists.

Soccer skills clinic planned
The Bowling Green State University men’s soccer team will present a seven-session winter skills clinic
beginning Jan.21.
Players from the team will work with both boys and girls ages 9-14 on improving skills at Perry Field
House on Jan. 21, Feb. 4, 11 and 18 and March 4, 18 and 25 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each night.
The skills clinic is sponsored by the Bowling Green Soccer Club.
