Blood drive Saturday in BG
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bowling Green
Eagles Club, 1163 N. Main St.
Arrests damper holiday cheer
PERRYSBURG – Two men were arrested at area businesses on charges including disorderly conduct in separate
incidents over a holiday weekend in December.
According to Perrysburg Police, at 11:33 p.m. Dec. 24 Perrysburg Township Police reported an intoxicated
subject at the Circle K station on North Dixie Highway. Perrysburg officers arrived and found Jason
Tollefson, Perrysburg, with Perrysburg Township police in front of the station. He was taken into
custody following a brief physical altercation and charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and
resisting arrest.
At 7:14 p.m. Dec. 25, officers responded to the Speedway location on U.S. 20 for an intoxicated male
subject who had reportedly assaulted another customer. Justen Stahl, Westerville, was subsequently
arrested for disorderly conduct with persistence, resisting arrest, underage consumption, and assault.
Due to his combative demeanor, he was taken directly to the Wood County Justice Center.
Karaoke planned
for Saturday
A karaoke night will be held Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight at VFW Post 1148, 719 S. Main St.
Portage Legion plans meeting
Post No. 725 Portage American Legion will hold a meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Weston American Legion
Hall, 13525 Main St., Weston.
Liberty Township trustees meet
The Liberty Township trustees will hold their 2011 reorganizational meeting on January 17th at 7:30 a.m.
in the Weston Legion hall.
Exchange Club hears report on United Way
The Bowling Green Exchange Club speaker for Tuesday will be Michelle Davis.
Davis, executive director of Community Outreach Services for United Way, will speak about what the
outreach programs at United Way have to offer, including 211, Americorps and a volunteer center.
The Exchange Club meets on Tuesday at noon at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Fitness classes raise $2,030
More than 80 people turned out for a week of charity classes at the Bowling Green Community Center. An
estimated $2,030 was raised.
From Jan. 3-7, the center held other fitness classes for $5 each with money going to Children’s Miracle
Network. The Zumbathon was the finale to the week.
Plain Township trustees meet
Plain Township Trustees will meet on Monday January 17 at 7:30 pm for their monthly meeting at the
township hall, corner or Poe and Liberty Hi Roads.
Possible sex offense reported
PERRYSBURG – Perrysburg Police detectives are investigating a possible sex offense reported Friday.
According to Perrysburg Police, the incident was reported at 7:07 p.m. At that time, a man called in
reference to a possible sexual assault at a retirement community on South Wilkinson Way.
