Edward ‘Skip’ Kline

Edward L. "Skip" Kline, 83, of Hoytville, died at 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at
his residence.
He was born in Hoytville on June 23, 1927, to the late Lee and Bessie (Penrod) Kline. On January 3, 1953,
he married Nancy Leatherman and she survives.
He is also survived by seven children: Vanessa (Tim) Graber of Pinckey, MI, Amy Walker of McComb, Jeanne
(Bob) Simon of Hoytville, Cindy (Jeff) Aukerman of McComb, Mark (Pam) Kline of Canton, MI, Jon (Deb)
Kline of Melbourne, FL, and Julie Buckland of McComb, 14 grandchildren: Nick Graber, Aaron King, Megan
Simon, James Simon, Jaycie (Eric) Wagner, Jeffery Aukerman, Ashley Kline, David Kline, Adam Kline, Lydia
Kline, Ryan (Melissa) Buckland, Bobby (Beth) Buckland, Tim Buckland, Grace Buckland, and six
great-grandchildren. One brother, Irvin (MaryJo) Kline and one sister, Edna (Paul) Johnson of Hoytville
also survive.
Skip was preceded in death by twin infant sons, Barry and Garry Kline, grandson Steve Aukerman and
son-in-law Bob Buckland.
Skip served his country in the US Army during both WWII and The Korean Conflict.
He retired from Kline Brothers Construction in 1993. Skip served on the Hoytville town council, Board of
Public Affairs, the Hoytville Volunteer Fire Department and also as Mayor of Hoytville.
He was a member of the Hoytville United Methodist Church where he served as trustee and custodian. He
also was a youth baseball coach and umpire in Hoytville and was a member of the McComb American Legion
Post 511.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 23, 2011, at the Hoytville United Methodist
Church, Hoytville, with Pastor Rick Adams officiating. A private family burial will be held on January
17, 2011.
