LIME CITY – A dog involved in a biting incident Jan. 1 in Perrysburg Township is scheduled to be
surrendered to the Wood County Dog Warden for euthanasia Jan. 13.
According to Perrysburg Township Police, the dog bite incident was reported at a residence in the
Perrysburg Estates mobile home park, in the 23000 block of Lime City Road. A 24-year-old Toledo resident
reported being bitten by a dog while delivering a pizza. She reportedly received several puncture wounds
on the back of her left leg and went to St. Luke’s Hospital, but did not require stitches.
The dog was identified by its owner, Christopher Lewis, as a boxer/pit bull mix, approximately 6 years
old.
Dep. Warden Justin Gallagher said Wednesday that Lewis, of Perrysburg, was not required to surrender the
dog but had agreed to do so because he said it was not the first time the animal had bitten someone.
Gallagher said Lewis had agreed to cover the cost of the victim’s medical treatment and he was not being
cited.
