LIME CITY – A Toledo man was arrested on charges including resisting arrest and obstructing official
business after he led a Perrysburg Township police officer on a foot chase Jan. 2.
According to Perrysburg Township Police, an officer stopped behind a disabled and occupied vehicle on
Hull Prairie Road, just north of Roachton Road, around 3:30 p.m. The driver, Jenna Naseef, Toledo,
indicated that she was waiting for her father to come and fix the vehicle. She provided identification
to the officer, but her passenger, Stephen Sargent, Toledo, said he did not have identification on him,
but provided the officer with a social security number.
Through dispatch, the officer discovered that the number provided by Sargent did not identify him, and
then saw Sargent exit the vehicle and run north on Hull Prairie Road. The officer chased him through a
property at the corner of Roachton and Hull Prairie roads and ordered him to stop. Sargent was
eventually cornered near a pond and taken into custody. A syringe was found on his person.
Naseef reportedly threw three syringes out of the vehicle during the chase, and later admitted to doing
so. A spoon with burnt residue, apparently for use in preparing drugs, was later found in the vehicle.

Naseef and Sargent were taken to jail where four more syringes were reportedly found in Naseef’s
brassiere. Police determined that Naseef, who was eight-and-a-half months pregnant and reportedly
addicted to heroin, would need to be transported to a hospital prior to being incarcerated due to a
concern that withdrawal symptoms might induce labor. She was taken back to Perrysburg, where she was
issued a summons for possession of drug abuse instruments and provided a ride home by a friend. Sargent
was charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest and possession of drug abuse
instruments.
