WEDNESDAY
G.F. Handel’s "Messiah" will be performed by the University Choral Society and the Toledo
Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Mark Munson, at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts

THURSDAY
Students pursuing a bachelor of fine arts degree in BGSU’s Creative Writing Program will read from their
work at 7:30 p.m. in Prout Chapel on the Bowling Green campus. Free.
THURSDAY-SUNDAY
Oscar Wilde’s "The Importance of Being Earnest" will be presented Thursday, Friday and Saturday
at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Joe E. Brown Theatre in University Hall. The play, a
satire of Victorian social hypocrisy, may not be suitable for all audiences. Tickets are $12 and $5 for

THURSDAY
The Taiko, Gamelan and Afro-Caribbean ensembles at BGSU will perform as part of World Percussion Night at
8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center. Free.
FRIDAY
Faculty and students from the Department of Theatre and Film, the School of Art and the College of
Musical Arts will present numerous performances, demonstrations, exhibits and sales during the annual
ArtsX event from 6-10 p.m. throughout the Fine Arts Center.
The annual Faculty/Staff Exhibition, featuring work in a wide range of media by current and emeriti
faculty and current staff in the School of Art, opens in the Fine Arts Center’s Dorothy Uber Bryan
Gallery. The exhibition continues through Dec. 15. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, 6-9
p.m. Thursdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays.
The Men’s Chorus, directed by Tim Cloeter, in an 8 p.m. concert in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical
Arts Center. The concert will also feature performances by The HeeBeeBGs, an a cappella group, and the
Varsity Quartets. Tickets are $10 and $7 for students and senior citizens in advance, and $13 and $10 on

SATURDAY
The Young People’s Concert Series continues will present "Holiday Stars," featuring students
from the Creative Arts Program, at 11 a.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center. The
concert is recommended for children age 5 and up. Tickets, $2 for adults and $1 for children, will be
available at the door 30 minutes before the performance.
The Bowling Green Philharmonia, conducted by Emily Freeman Brown, will perform Prokofiev’s "Piano
Concerto No. 3 in C Major," featuring pianist Solungga Fang-Tzu Liu and Ravel’s arrangement of
Mussorgsky’s "Pictures at an Exhibition," in an 8 p.m. concert in Kobacker Hall. Tickets are
$10 and $7 for students and senior citizens in advance, and $13 and $10, on the day of the performance.

Percussion Ensemble, directed by Roger Schupp, will perform at 3 p.m. in Kobacker Hall.

Southern Graphics Council traveling exhibition continues through Dec. 13 in the Willard Wankelman Gallery
in Fine Arts Center. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, 6-9 p.m. Thursdays and 1-4 p.m.
Sundays.
"Art from Visiting the Margins" continues through Sunday in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union
Gallery. Hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
