BG men stay on the road to face Iowa

After absorbing a 101-57 loss at Xavier, the Bowling Green men’s basketball team remains on the road,
playing at Iowa Friday night. Tipoff is at 9:05 p.m.
Iowa is 0-2 this season, opening with a 62-50 loss to Texas-San Antonio and then dropping a 52-50
decision to Duquesne on Tuesday.
The Hawkeyes have only one senior and nine of the 12 players on the roster are either freshmen or
sophomores.
Anthony Tucker, a 6-feet-4 sophomore, is averaging 10.5 points a game after scoring 16 points against
Duquesne. Jarryd Cole, 6-7 junior, is averaging 10 rebounds per game.
Todd Lickliter is in his third season as Iowa’s head coach. Lickliter joined the Iowa program after
serving as the head coach at Butler University for six seasons (2001-07).
For the Falcons, sophomore Scott Thomas is averaging 14.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Senior Otis Polk is averaging 12.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Because of foul trouble, Polk was
limited to 18 minutes of playing time against Xavier.
1970: Bowling Green is 0-2 all-time against Iowa, last playing the Hawkeyes in 1970.
